Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada and is American. There are more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk-rock and alternative rock although it also has influences from punk funk hip beat and jazz. Widely considered a feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, and was among the first musicians to launch her own record label in 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd of 1970, her parents Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco and Dante Americo DiFranco, who met while attending in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother was born in Montreal and her father is of Italian heritage. The song by Ani, 32 Flavors was composed by her, and performed by Ani. The song is featured on her sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. On the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. DiFranco has since apologized after it became known that she had planned to host an event for three days in a Louisiana former plantation for slaves. The workshop was cancelled, yet she refused to express regret. DiFranco released a second apology just a few days after the first. She is known for her Little Folksinger songs, however she's worked with many artists and genres from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The place she lives is New Orleans.
